Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) Fees - July 2008
Welcome to the MBS (Medicare Benefits Schedule) Fee Update utility for all versions of Blue Chip.
Please note that these files should be downloaded to a machine that has Blue Chip on it and the update to the fees should be performed on the same machine.
Instructions for downloading and upgrading the MBS Fees.
- Click on the filename link (BC_MBS_Jul08.exe) in the table below and a dialog box will appear.
- Depending on your version of Windows the dialog box will give you a number of options; however you are only looking for the option to either "Run" or "Open". Click either of these options to download the file and launch the application. You will see the application start to download files. (On some systems this will be very quick.)
- After the download completes you may receive a "Security Warning" to run the application. If you do get this message select "Run".
- The application will then launch and an MBS Fee List 1 July 2008 dialog box will appear.
- Click the "Next" button to start the upgrade process.
- If you have multiple databases in your practice, select the database that you wish to upgrade by clicking in the box. All databases are selected by default.
- Click "Next" once this selection has been made.
- A message box appears, advising that the MBS fee update process cannot be cancelled. Click "Ok". The fee update proceeds and a progress bar will appear, showing you how the update is progressing.

When the update is complete, a message box appears, advising that the MBS fee update has been successfully applied. Click "Ok".
- Click "Close" to close the MBS Fee List Update dialog box.
Notes
- A note for Dial Up sites; this process may take a little longer.
- Antivirus software may query the update, and there may be an extra prompt involved.
Repatriation Medical Fee Schedule (RMFS) Fees - November 2007
for Blue Chip versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2
This RMFS fee update is for versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 only. If you have a later version of Blue Chip, please download the RMFS Update for version 2.3 and 2.4.
Instructions to upgrade RMFS Fees (DVA)
- Click on the filename link (RMFS_BC22_Nov07.exe) in the table below and a dialog box will appear.
- Depending on your version of Windows the box will give you a number of options; however you are only looking for the option to either "Run" or "Open". Click either of these options to download the file and launch the application. You will see the application start to download files. (On some systems this will be very quick.)
- After the download completes you may receive a "Security Warning" to run the application. If you do get this message select "Run".
- The application will then launch and you will see a button called "Update Fees". Click on this button and the RMFS list will be updated. Once completed, the "Close" button will be highlighted. Select "Close". The fee update is now complete.

- If you use items 132 or 133, you will need to add these items before running the update. Click here for instructions on adding new service items to RMFS list.
- For practices with more than one Blue Chip database, you will be able to update the other databases by clicking the button corresponding to the database name and then choosing the appropriate Blue Chip database.
DVA RMFS Fees Update - please read before proceeding with download!
As of 1 July 2007, RMFS Fees are now claimable at two different rates; one for In Hospital and one for Out of Hospital services.
For Blue Chip versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2, only the In Hospital fees are imported.
Practices still using these older versions of Blue Chip need to be aware that fees for consultations and in-rooms procedures need to be adjusted in Blue Chip, via the Setup menu.
For the correct rates, please refer to the orange A5 booklet supplied to your practice by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Please be aware that, as of October 2007, if you claim a lower rate than the official rate, you will only be paid what you have claimed.
for Blue Chip versions 2.3 and 2.4
This RMFS fee update is for versions 2.3 and 2.4 only. If you have an earlier version of Blue Chip, please download the RMFS Update for version 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2.

Instructions to Renew PKI Certificates
These instructions specifically address the procedure for renewing the Medicare Australia Online PKI Certificate for Blue Chip.
- Click on the filename link to print out the instructions for the version of Blue Chip that you are using in the table below this text.
- After reading the instructions you will find that you need to download the PKI Certificate Manager Installer. The installer is located in the table below this text.
- This download needs to be performed on the server.
